He is one of the greatest mathematician ,
and had much contribution to mathematical analysis and numbers.

At the age of 12 , he borrowed Trignometry books and completed the advanced trignometry at the age of 13.

At the age of 15, he learned cubic equations, by solving in his own method.

At the age of 16 he mastered "elementry results in pure and applied Mathematics "

Demonstrating Mathematical Skills at school

At the age of 17 , he conducted own mathematical research under the topic of Bernouli Numbers and Euler Mascheroni Constant.

He passed in Mathematics choosing only to attempt questions that appealed to him and performing poorly in other subjects , Even he failed in Fellow of Arts exam in 1906. He left a college without degree and started Independent research in mathematics.

At the age of 26, he began a correspondance with the British Mathematician G H Hardy

At the age of 31 , he was the first Indian to be elected as the fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge

Ramanujan nearly compiled 3900+ results in identities and theorems in his entire short life time.

One Day GH hardy went to visit his ill friend Ramanujan, there Ramanujan asked about his travel you came by which car number .
Hardy Replied its too boring number which is 1729.
For this ramanujan replied its very intresting number 1729.
explanation : Smallest number that could be expressed by the sum of two cubes in two different ways :

1^3  +   12^3  = 1729
                                         smallest number
9^3  +  10 ^3  = 1729

In his 75 th Birth Anniversery Indian Government Released a Postal Stamp for honouring him.

The year 2012 is celebrated as the National Year of Mathematics.

He died very early at the age of 31 ( April 26 1920 ) cause of Amoebiosis

With almost no formal education...... he was a greatest mathematics of the 20th Century.
